A man died after he was hit by a car in Marsa on Tuesday evening.

The accident took place in Triq Diċembru Tlettax, at around 8pm, the police said.

The victim, a 24-year-old Sudanese man who lives in Birzebbugia, was hit by a Land Rover Freelander that was being driven by a 37-year-old man from Paola.

The casualty was certified dead on site.

Magistrate Victor Axiak is leading an inquiry. Police investigations are also ongoing.
