A man was killed in a fight in Marsalforn on Saturday evening, the police said.

The victim is a Syrian man, aged 25, who was certified dead at Gozo General Hospital.

The police said that a fight broke out in an apartment in Triq il-Wied, with several officers going on site.

While the investigation was taking place, the police were informed that three men had gone to the hospital, one of whom was unconscious and suffering from stab wounds. The man was certified dead some time later.

The fight involved a group of Syrians whose age varies between 24 and 29. Blunt objects such as pieces of wood and chairs were used, as was a knife.

Another three men were later also taken to Gozo Hospital. These are being kept for observation under police surveillance.

The police said that four men have been arrested and are helping them in the investigations.
