A man has died in Gozo after he fell a storey off a road and into an underlying field.

Police said that their assistance was requested at around 8:30am in a field at Triq Ghar Ilma in Kercem, Gozo.

Preliminary investigations showed that the man – a 74-year-old from Rabat, Gozo – appeared to have fallen almost a storey down into the field from a road which runs adjacent to it.

A medical team was called on site, but the man was certified dead on site.

Duty magistrate Simone Grech is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
