A sword was one of the weapons used in a fight that occurred in St Julian’s early this morning, one which left four men injured with another five arrested.

The fight took place in St George’s Road at 4.15am.

Three of the injured men are a Libyan aged 36, an Iranian aged 24 and an Englishman aged 24. The fourth injured man is still to be identified, the police said.

Another five foreigners are assisting the police in their investigations. The police did not give their nationality or age.

A sword and glass object was used in the fight, the police said.

Magistrate Elaine Mercieca is leading an inquiry.
