A man was remanded in custody after being charged with injuring his brother during a fight over a bottle of water.
Ignazio Mifsud, 58, of Qormi, was charged before Magistrate Doreen Clarke on Friday morning.
The incident took place on Wednesday evening, as the two men were eating dinner.
It is understood that they were involved in an argument about a bottle of water, which escalated to such an extent that one of the brothers stabbed the other with a knife that was on the table at the time.
Defence lawyer Roberta Bonello told the court that her client was pleading not guilty to the charges but would not be requesting bail at this stage.
The court remanded the man in custory, ordering Mifsud not to approach or communicate with his brother should he eventually be granted bail at a later stage.
Inspector Eman Hayman prosecuted.
