Another man in hospital after Saturday's fireworks factory explosion

A third man was grievously injured after the fireworks explosion on Saturday.

The explosion occurred on Saturday afternoon in a fireworks factory in the limits of Mosta.

The police said on Saturday that 11 people were on site at the time of the blast. All of them were accounted for. Two of them, aged 25 and 29, both from Mosta, needed hospital treatment, one for burns, and the other after falling one storey.

On Sunday, the police said that the 25-year-old was certified as having suffered grievous injuries. The 29-year-old had been certified as suffering from grievous injuries on Saturday.

Now a third person has been taken to hospital. At 2.30am, the police were informed that a 60-year-old man from Mosta was taken to hospital in relation to this accident, and also suffered grievous injuries.

The magisterial inquiry and related investigations are ongoing.
