Tessabelle Camilleri, the partner of the late Shawn Curmi, took to social media to send a final tribute to her partner after he unexpectedly lost his life on Tuesday.

Curmi, a father and a psychiatric nurse at Mount Carmel Hospital, tragically fell two storeys to his death on Tuesday while working on some stairs at his home.

Camilleri spoke of how Curmi served as an inspiration to her on a daily basis. “Many times I told you ‘You inspire me every single day’. You were the strongest and kindest person I have ever met. A man with the most beautiful heart.”

Many took to social media to share their tributes to Curmi after his untimely death. Camilleri then gave an insight into Curmi’s personality and plans for the future.

“Thank you for being there when I needed a shoulder to cry on, a place to vent, a person to talk to for hours about everything and nothing. Thank you for showing me what true love really means and what it feels like to be respected.”

Accompanying her post, Camilleri published a photo montage of some of the moments the couple shared mostly at home with their dog.

“Shawn, I will miss you every single day. We had so many firsts planned this year and so many firsts that we were supposed to do together. I am still trying to accept the fact that I can never bring you back, and I have no idea how I will ever accept this. I keep on waiting for your call. My heart is breaking with every passing second of the day,” she wrote.

“No matter how much time passes by, my love for you will keep on growing. I will be waiting, until we meet again, so I can hold you in my arms.”

Many others were quick to pay tribute to Curmi, including former PN MP Mario Galea who described Curmi as a man who had always impressed him with his “honesty and good heart”, saying that even though he was already a good man, he always wanted to be better.

Zejtun Corinthians FC also paid tribute to Curmi saying that until a few years ago he had given great contribution to the club both as a player and later as a youth coach, while the Juventus Club Malta Cuore Bianconero, of which Curmi was an active member, similarly paid tribute.
