Singer and pianist Godwin Lucas has passed away, his nephew said on Facebook.

Lucas was 63. In his career, he collaborated with many singers and musicians including Phylissienne Brincat, Paul Abela and Paul Giordemaina.

He took part in several song contests including the Malta Song Festival.

In a post, Mark Spiteri Lucas, was among those who paid tribute to his memory.

“You passed away early, uncle”, Mark wrote on his page.

Spiteri Lucas recalled that the last time he sang with his uncle was during last year’s edition of Mużika Mużika.

He also thanked him for the legacy he left behind and for enchanting audiences with his piano and voice.
