A man whose identity is still unknown, and a 35-year old motorcyclist were both grievously injured in separate accidents in Fgura on Monday.
The first accident, which happened at around 7:15am in Triq Hompesch in Fgura, involved a traffic accident between a motorcycle and a car.
The first investigation revealed that there was a collision between a Peugeot Sumup motorcycle ridden by a 35-year old from Marsascala and a Mercedes E 270, driven by a 35-year old from Fgura.
The motorcyclist was injured and taken to Mater Dei Hospital where his injuries were deemed to be grievous in nature.
Meanwhile, the second accident happened just 45 minutes after the first, at 8:00am at a construction site in Triq A. M. Valperga in Fgura.
Police immediately went to the scene and a preliminary investigation revealed that a man, probably a foreigner, but whose identity is still unknown, was injured after falling about three storeys high while working.
He too was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance and was certified to have suffered grievous injuries.
Police are investigating both cases.
