A health and safety project supervisor has been attacked on a construction site, the Malta Occupational Safety and Health Practitioners Association said.

The incident happened on Saturday, but the association did not give any more details.

The man was carrying out his duties as a project supervisor, the association said,

The MOSHPA fully condemns this attack and will provide the necessary support to this member. The person in question is currently at hospital being treated for the injuries sustained.

This is not the first case of aggression that was reported by members, the association said. In the meantime, a police report has been filed and investigations are on-going.

The assistance of OHSA had been immediately requested on the safety concerns identified on site. MOSHPA requested the full cooperation from the competent Authorities to ensure that our members are protected during the execution of their duties so that such incidents will be avoided.
