Another 570 Covid-19 cases identified as active cases near 6,000

Health authorities found another 570 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, according to data published online.

The number of active cases now stands at 5,958.

The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic has climbed to 102,593. Total recoveries amount to 95,499.

The death toll stands at 740. No new Covid-related deaths were reported over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry has stopped publishing daily bulletins on social media which show details about the pandemic in Malta.

Data is still being published by the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 Public Health Response Team on an open source database on the platform GitHub, although certain details such as the number of positive Covid-19 cases in hospital and the details about people who had died are not included in the dataset.
