Health Minister Chris Fearne announced in Parliament on Monday that an IVF bill that will see the introduction of pre-implantation genetic testing will go back to committee stage and a vote will be taken in plenary on Wednesday.

The final vote on the controversial Bill was set to be taken on Monday afternoon, but the procedure will be postponed by a couple of days while the legislation goes back before the Consideration of Bills committee.

Fearne said this will be done to make sure that the Parents Act of 2018 reflects the changes being implemented.

Nationalist Party whip Robert Cutajar and Labour Party whip Andy Ellul announced that both sides of the House are in agreement with this and the vote would be taken no later than Wednesday during the Parliamentary session.
