A motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident in St Julian’s on Thursday afternoon.

The accident took place on Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli, at around 1:30pm, the police said.

The casualty, 76, from Ta’ Xbiex was riding a Kymco motorcycle that had an impact with a Mazda driven by a 52-year-old man from St Julian’s.

The motorcyclist was given first aid on site and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are ongoing.
