A man who allegedly stole from church donation boxes has been arrested and is expected to be charged on Friday, the police said.

The 25-year-old, from Imsida, was arrested by district and community police.

He allegedly broke into and stole money from donation boxes in churches in Valletta and Floriana. The man also carried out thefts from shops in Valletta.  

He is expected to be arraigned before duty magistrate Monica Vella.
