A biker and his pillion rider were injured after a crash in St Julian’s on Wednesday afternoon, the police said.

The accident took place in Borg Olivier Street at 5.30pm.

The police said the biker and rider, an Italian man and woman aged 56 and residents of St Julian’s were taken to hospital with grievous injuries.

The police said it is likely that the biker lost control of the bike, a Yadea, because of an oil spill.

The road was temporarily closed to traffic.
