Grech ‘lying about his own party, to himself’ – Arrigo

Wednesday, 3 August 2022, 08:46 Last update: about 3 years ago

Former PN deputy leader has lashed out as PN leader Bernard Grech, saying that he (Grech) lied about his own party and to himself on national TV.

In a post on Facebook, Arrigo said that an internal report on the Naxxar mayor was concluded months ago, but Grech said that it had not yet been finished.

Arrigo said that Grech did not like the conclusions of the report.

In December, the Nationalist Party asked Naxxar mayor Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami to resign from her post over an undeclared conflict of interest.

Muscat Fenech Adami, who represents the PN as the locality’s mayor, caused raised eyebrows after she voted in favour of a mega-development on the former trade fair grounds, despite the fact that the council had said it would vote against the project when it came before the Planning Authority.

“Of course, he (Grech) is never at fault, not even with a horrible showing in the General Elections. Other honorable gentleman before him resigned after a result not as disastrous as this,” Arrigo wrote.

“A Kap belittling, lying about his own party, about the board who is serious, and killing the Amminstrativ (administrative committee), who were made to look like idiots.”

“A Kap lying to himself on tv.”

“An honorable step is awaited”.

This is the second time that Arrigo has turned his guns on the PN.

On Monday, he said he was victim to the “politics of exclusion”.

In his last speech as deputy leader on Saturday, a visibly emotional Arrigo said that he felt he had been sidelined by the party.
