Security in Malta is being threatened as every day there is a new story showing that the country's security is being compromised, PN spokesperson for Home Affairs Joe Giglio said.

In a statement, Giglio said that the PN will continue to insist on measures for security, and has put forward six proposals.

Giglio said that the police force must be strengthened by improving the working conditions of officers, so that they are truly effective in the fight against crime.

"We have a demotivated, overworked, overstretched, and underpaid Police Force. We cannot go on like this," Giglio said.

The second proposal is that foreigners who break the laws of the country be deported immediately and would not be allowed to re-enter Malta. Giglio said that Identity Malta has been sleeping on this point.

The PN also proposed to strengthening the agencies that have a duty to enforce laws.

The PN also suggests that " we begin to look at how the Army can begin to participate more actively in law enforcement."

Another proposal is that "our Courts are given required resources to work, including by rewriting the Criminal Code so that it starts to make sense in today's day and age. We still have a procedure that was written in 1854."

The PN also wants the procedure of "everyone being employed with the government, and then wanting to bring in foreign workers without even knowing their background," to stop.
