Kayak for Charity duo Dorian Vassallo and Albert Gambina will set off on their 75km kayak journey around Malta Tuesday.

Announced on Gambina’s Facebook page, the duo will set off from the beach in front of Alfresco restaurant in Birzebbuga early tomorrow morning and returning to the same spot in the evening.

Kayak for Charity are two friends who have known each other during their school years and hold kayaking challenges to raise funds for charity. This year, the funds raised will go to the Inspire Foundation.

This year, the duo will paddle the distance around Malta in an outrigger canoe, or OC1, proving a more challenging journey due to the different type of boat.

The duo may have to withstand severe back pain in order to complete the route, as the canoe does not have a back rest. Moreover, the boat has limited storage space, and the pair will paddle unassisted for around 12 to 14 hours.

One can track tomorrow’s journey via this link.
