Premier League: Stripes maintain 100% record

Birkirkara maintained their 100% record beating Floriana 10 thanks to a Kevin Tulimieri goal 15 minutes from time.

Birkirkara now have 9 points from three matches as this was their successive victory. For the Greens this was the first defeat of the season.

In the other matches, Gudja United surprised Balzan beating them 1-0 with Gudja’s goal coming from Johann Bezzina on 33 minutes.

This was Balzan’s first defeat of the season, after winning their first two matches. The victory puts Gudja in second place in the standings, two points behind leaders Birkirkara.

In another match, newlyproomoted Zebbug Rangers obtained their first victory of the season, beating struggling Santa Lucia 2-0.

The result leaves Santa Lucia at the bottom of the table still in search of their first points of the season.

Zebbug’s victory materialised in the second half, when Lokolingoy gave them the lead 2 minutes into the second half, and Perez sealed the issue with the second goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

In the late match, Valletta had to settle for a point in a scoreless draw, against 10-man Sirens.
