The 13th edition of Rockestra and the first one held outdoors at the MFCC in Ta' Qali saw the organizers salute the memory of Queen Elizabeth II and commemorated World Suicide Prevention Day, a government statement read.

The President of Malta, George Vella, said that he was "impressed by the enthusiasm and energy of the artists and the crowd present at this high calibre event organized with so much dedication and professionalism. The President said that Rockestra brought the people of Malta back together through music while all those attending did their duty in helping the Malta Community Chest Fund continue helping those in need."

Rockestra's Artistic Director, Paul Borg Bonaci, and Music Director, Mro Sigmund Mifsud, said that they are very satisfied that the event was sold-out and that those present "took an active part in the concert with the theme 'I love Rock 'n' Roll' with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and a range of Maltese singers and musicians." Bonaci and Mifsud said that they were also surprised by the response of the people to the after-party, something new that was inspired by the comments of some of the people who attended past editions.

President George Vella thanked all the artists and volunteers involved in making this event so successful while he encouraged the public to continue taking part in the activities taking place in the coming weeks to raise more funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund.
