A man who was hit by a motorcycle last week has succumbed to his injuries, police said on Monday.

The man – a 62-year-old from Fontana – sustained life threatening injuries last Monday after he was hit by a motorbike in Republic Street at 9.30pm.

He was taken to Gozo General Hospital with serious injuries, but died a week later.

The biker involved in the accident, a 38-year-old man from Qala, was unhurt.

Magistrate Simone Grech is leading an inquiry.
