An elderly woman was grievously injured on Wednesday afternoon after she was hit by a motorbike, the police said.

The accident took place at 3.15pm in Dun Karm Road, Birkirkara.

The 89-year-old Birkirkara resident was hit by a Kentoya Viking.

The biker, a 33-year-old resident of Victoria, was unhurt.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
