Food, health and sport: visit San Klement Park in Zabbar for an evening of activities

Next Wednesday 21st September, public holiday, visit San Klement Park in Zabbar for an evening of entertainment for all the family.

Next Wednesday 21st September, San Klement Park in Żabbar will be transformed into a space for the promotion of food, health and sports aimed at encouraging the public to live a healthier and more sustainable life.

With activities starting at 5pm, in collaboration with Danusan, the Sustainable Development Directorate is inviting you and your family for an evening of sports and educational activities for everyone.

This activity is free of charge and is open to everyone.

The programme is varied and those present will have the opportunity to meet Maltese Olympic athletes, including Matthew Abela (badminton), Carla Scicluna and Janet Richard (athletics), and Lacey Aquilina (sailing). The Malta Skateboard Association will be holding a talent show. More sports organisations include: the Malta Football Association, Malta Cricket, Badminton Malta, Special Olympics Malta, the Malta Wheelchair Basketball Association, and the Boċċi Clubs Federation.

Representatives from the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate will provide information on how to live a healthy life and the type of balanced diet one can eat.

Through the promotion of local and nutritious products, information on sustainable agricultural practices will be given.

Apart from exhibitions of sports talent, there will also be Zumba, games for children, crafts and sports activities as well as a band performance from the Żabbar Scout Group.

This activity is being organised by the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise as part of the European Sustainable Development Week. This year’s theme is Shaping our Sustainable Future.
