Pedestrian, cyclist suffer grievous injuries in two accidents

Two men were grievously injured in separate accidents on Thursday morning.

The first incident occurred at 8.15am on Triq il-Wied, Balzan. A 74-year-old man was hit by a Toyota Vitz that was being driven by a 32-year-old.

The second incident occurred at 8.45am, on Triq Fleur-De-Lys, Birkirkara. The police said that a 53-year-old male cyclist from Cospicua was hit by the door of a parked car, within which there was a 32-year-old woman from Mosta.

Both men in both accidents were certified as having suffered grievous injuries and were taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
