A 51-year-old man from Mqabba died in Birzebbugia on Sunday morning, after being injured while using a mechanical plough, the police said in a statement.

The accident occurred at 10.30am, on Triq Ħal Far. A medical tried to assist the victim, but unfortunately the man was pronounced dead on site.

Magistrate Astrid May Grima is leading a magisterial inquiry and investigations are ongoing.
