A man was seriously injured in Għajn Tuffieħa at 4.30pm yesterday.

The police said that the man was injured during a sports activity around Triq in-Naħħalija, limits of Mellieha.

The 30-year-old man from Gzira was injured during a race. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by members of the Malta Red Cross, who were onsite during the activity.

Magistrate Charmaine Galea is leading an inquiry and investigations are ongoing.
