A 73-year-old man was hospitalised early on Wednesday morning after he was involved in a motorcycle crash.

Police said in a statement that they were informed of a traffic accident at 6am in Triq Birzebbuga in Birzebbuga.

Preliminary investigations showed that the man had been riding his Piaggio motorcycle but had lost control and crashed into a parked Ford Fiesta.

He was certified as having suffered grievous injuries in the crash.

Police said that their investigations are ongoing.
