28 migrants found to be living in Malta illegally

Twenty-eight migrants were found to be living in Malta illegally on Saturday, the government said.

Inspections were carried out in Hamrun, Marsa and Santa Venera.

The 28 persons are from Senegal, Ghana, Gambia, Mali, Bangladesh, Somalia, Eritrea, Nigeria, Pakistan and Syria.

They were taken to a detention centre and the process for their deportation has started, the government said.
