A woman died and a man was grievously injured in two separate falls today, the police said.

In the first accident, in Tarxien Road, Luqa at 10am, an 83-year-old woman fell one storey in her residence. She was certified dead on site.

At 12.15, in Fleur-de-Lys Road in Birkirkara, a man whose identity is still unknown fell two storeys. He was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras is leading an inquiry into the woman’s death.
