17 reports of violations of protection orders in domestic violence cases were received by the police between January and the end of October 2022 from victims of domestic violence.

This information was revealed in the answer to a parliamentary question asked by PN MP Graziella Attard Previ, who also asked Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri to divulge what kind of action was taken in each case.

Attard Previ also asked how many of these violations were reported more than once.

Camilleri said that 17 reports of violations of protection orders were filed by victims of domestic violence, where in each case, steps were taken against the offenders in Court. 16 of the offenders were male, whilst one person was female.

He said that in two cases, the case has been decided, while the other cases are still sub judice.

Camilleri said that none of the instances were reported more than once.
