Three Romanian men were arrested by the police on Tuesday in connection with the murder of another man in St Julian’s on Monday afternoon.

The police said that the three men are aged 31, 32 and 35.

They are being held for questioning at the police headquarters in Floriana.

The police said Tuesday that the victim is not of Romanian nationality, as previously said. He is an English man who resides in Romania.

The man was stabbed in Ross Street at around 3.30pm.

He was taken to hospital where he died some time later.

Magistrate Charmaine Galea is leading an inquiry.

TVM is reporting that the man who was murdered had spent time in prison in Romania, and that he had received a prison sentence, in absentia, in connection with a murder that had taken place in London.
