Four injured in separate road accidents

Four people were injured in separate road accidents which occurred on Tuesday.

Police were informed that an accident had occurred in Triq il-Mellieha, Mellieha at around 6:45am. A Toyota Corsa, driven by a 26-year-old man resident in Victoria, Gozo, crashed into a pole. A 25-year-old male resident in Ghajnsielem and a 30-year-old man from Zebbug, Gozo, were passengers in the same car.

The driver and the 25-year-old passenger were assisted by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital in an ambulance. Both the driver and the 25-year-old passenger were certified with grievous injuries. Police investigations are still ongoing.

In a separate accident, another man suffered grievous injuries on Triq il-Mosta, St Paul's Bay. The 27-year-old man from St Paul's Bay was driving a Peugeot Speedfight motorcycle, and collided with a Toyota Hilux driven by a 66-year-old man from Naxxar at around 9am on Tuesday. The driver of the motorcycle was given assistance by a medical team and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital in an ambulance and was later certified as suffering from grievous injuries. Police investigations are still ongoing.

At around 10am the police were informed of yet another accident in Triq il-Wied, Birkirkara. A 65-year-old woman from Birkirkara was hit by a Renault Captur driven by a 24-year-old man from Naxxar. The victim was assisted by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei in an ambulance and was certified with grievous injuries. Police investigations are ongoing.
