Actor Victor Grech has passed away, aged 96, his son announced.

In a Facebook post, Josef Grech said his father had died, posting a photo that was taken on his last birthday in September.

Grech will be remembered for the role he played in several Maltese drama, including Ipokriti, one of the first ever Maltese soap-operas.

He had also taken part in the series F’Bahar Wiehed.

Grech had been born in Sliema in 1926. He was married to actress Mary Grech, and they had three children, Josef, Noel and Christianne.
