A man was critically injured this morning when he fell one storey on a construction site, the police said.

The accident took place in St Joseph Street, Zabbar, at 11.30am.

The man, aged 57, of Marsascala was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Joseph Mifsud is leading an inquiry.
