Two 16-year-olds arrested over Valletta assault

Two 16-year-old young men were arrested over the incident in Valletta that left a teenager grievously injured last Saturday.

Four minors were allegedly attacked on Merchant Street by a group of older youths, who dispersed before the police arrived. A parent of one of the injured boys, in a statement had said that the boys were attacked by a gang of older thugs for no reason at all.

The two 16-year-olds, who were allegedly involved, are expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, the police said. Investigations are still ongoing.
