A man died in Gozo on Friday afternoon when a heavy object fell on his head when he was on the roof, the police said.

The man, an English citizen who resides in Xaghra, was hit by the object on the roof at around 5pm.

The man, aged 77, was taken to Gozo Hospital for treatment, but he died some time later.

Malta and Gozo were hit by a huge storm on the day.
