The person who has been lost at sea since Friday has been identified as a 42-year-old Finnish man, the police said.

The man reportedly fell into the sea at the limits of St Elmo in Valletta.

The search for the man, which is being conducted by the police and the Armed Forces of Malta, is still ongoing.

On Friday the search was suspended due to bad weather and later resumed.
