A woman has died after falling three-storeys off her own residence in Hamrun, the police said.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at around 9:30am in Triq Willie Attard in Hamrun.

Preliminary investigations showed that the woman – who is 43 years old – fell a height of three storeys off the roof of her own residence.

She was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, but was certified as dead a short period of time later.

Duty magistrate Marseann Farrugia is leading an inquiry, while police said that their investigations are also ongoing.
