Mgarr United striker Christian Saint Ebisindor lit up the Sirens Stadium last weekend with what was a veritable wonder goal, as his team sealed a win to keep their promotion charge alive.

Mgarr faced Mellieha in Section A of the National Amateur League knowing that they needed three points to keep pace with Senglea Athletic and Zabbar St Patrick ahead of them as the Maltese league reaches its climax.

They ultimately emerged as comfortable 4-0 winners, but one goal caught the eye: that of their Nigerian striker and top scorer Christian Saint Ebisindor.

Footage uploaded to social media by the club shows the Nigerian holding off a defender, and chesting a ball from a throw-in into the air on the edge of the box, and then executing a wonderful bicycle kick, sending the ball over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

The 22-year-old striker has proven to be a revelation for Mgarr this season, scoring a total of 23 goals in 22 games.  18 of them have come in the National Amateur League, making him the league’s top scorer.

Saint Ebisindor first arrived in Malta last season when he played with Pembroke FC, scoring 9 goals in 4 Youth League matches.  Previously, he played in Latvia.
