Prime Minister Robert Abela spoke highly about the work the government has done for workers, as new measures benefitting workers are announced every week.

During political meetings with the people of Naxxar, Zabbar and Zurrieq Abela mentioned how the government is implementing new measures in favour of workers and their families.

"The message I have for you today, on the eve of Labour Day, is a clear one. From the government's end, we will continue to announce measures in favour of workers and their families with each passing week," Abela said.

He added that there are a number of large and small measures in place that continue to support workers.

Abela pointed out how in the space of a week the aid for businesses that invest in equipment and sustainable changes doubled, young people could start applying for free internet and there was a call for injustices of the past to be solved.He said that whilst this all took place, a white paper proposing a new Health and Safety at Work Act was announced.

Abela said that this happens because the Labour government is a government that believes in workers and their families. He noted that the Opposition speaks against the aid that the government offers to workers.

"Let's be proud that we are the Party that creates work and helps workers. The party that grows the economy to create wealth and spread it," he said.
