A Romanian national is fighting life-threatening injuries after falling off an e-scooter, police said on Monday morning.

Police said in a statement that they were informed at around 1:30am on Monday that a person had been found on the ground with head injuries in Triq is-Soll in Santa Venera.

Preliminary investigations showed that the victim – a 27-year-old man from Romania who lives in Pieta – had been riding an e-kick scooter and had fallen off it.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty magistrate Astrid May Grima is leading an inquiry while police investigations are also ongoing.
