85 fines have been issued to establishments for playing excessively loud music, Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri told Parliament on Wednesday.
“The number of contraventions issued to persons of licensed establishments who were caught playing loud music, between January 2022 and the end of March 2023 was 85,” he said.
He was responding to PN MP Ivan Bartolo’s Parliamentary Question as to how many contraventions had been issued to establishments that played loud music after 11pm.
Camilleri was quick to emphasise that “these figures cover contraventions that occurred at all times, and not merely after 11pm.”
The Minister did not elaborate on how many of the 85 contraventions were issued for loud music played after 11pm.
