Transport Malta has announced that it has resolved the delays experienced in the month of April for new vehicle registration plates.
The authority said in a statement that during that time, there was an overwhelming increase in vehicle registration deposits, resulting in a maximum delay of 12 days from deposit date.
However, Transport Malta said that it could announce that as of May 2nd, waiting times for new number plates are back to the normal processing time maximum of 48 hours from deposit date.
To ensure that registration processes remain within an acceptable time frame of 1 to 2 days, the authority is continuously recruiting and training new staff to reach full complement, it said.
Transport Malta said that it remains committed to providing efficient and high-quality service to its customers.
The authority thanked all customers for their patience during the recent period of increased waiting times and assured them that it is taking all necessary measures to prevent similar delays in the future.
