Well-known Maltese sports photographer Paul Zammit Cutajar passed away on Tuesday.
He was 71 years old.
Zammit Cutajar’s photography career started in 2007, when he was assigned to the Malta-Turkey match and he continued to then cover a number of sporting events internationally, including with the Malta Football Association.
His photographic prowess in sports was recognised more than once: he was awarded the International Olympic Committee Trophy – Sport and Art in 2014 while he was named Sports Photographer of the Year in 2013 and 2015.
The MFA were amongst those who offered their condolences: “The Malta FA mourns the death of our longtime friend and colleague, Paul Zammit Cutajar. As all who knew him can attest, Paul was a man among men. He dedicated his life to photography and his love for his passion was contagious.”
“Please join us in remembering this great man. May his good soul rest in peace. Until we meet again Pawl!”, the association said.
