Peter Paul Coleiro has been appointed as the new Director General of the Civil Protection Department (CPD), the Home Affairs Ministry announced.

Coleiro was given this role after being acting director general of the CPD for the last few months.

Coleiro held the positions of operation director, deputy director and senior operation manager within the CPD over the last few years.

During the last 13 years, he has also served as a court expert in fire investigations.

His journey with the CPD began in 2013, following a career in the sector of transport and ICT.

Coleiro graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration and has also followed a number of courses that have to do with management and fire.

Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri praised Coleiro for his leadership skills over the past few months when the CPD was called to help overseas.
