PN MEP candidate Peter Agius appealed for increased awareness and services for persons with hearing difficulties.

In a post on Facebook on Wednesday, Agius spoke about his operation on his ears, having had difficulty hearing from his right ear.

He said that he received a special hearing aid which helps him hear some sounds again. Agius will be able to return to Malta after his operation abroad, following last tests.

“I am sharing this experience of mine in a commitment to increase awareness and services for those who experience hearing loss,” Agius said.

He said that reportedly, around 15% of people have difficulty hearing.

“It is our duty to try to improve ourselves in every aspect, especially where there is new technology that can help us live a better life,” Agius said.
