President Myriam Spiteri Debono joined non-executive Heads of State from across the European Union in Slovenia for the informal Arraiolos Group summit.

Upon her arrival, President Spiteri Debono was officially welcomed by her Slovenian counterpart, Nataša Pirc Musar.

During the plenary session, participating leaders engaged in high-level discussions regarding the European Union's role within the current international geopolitical landscape. Central to the talks was the need for the EU to maintain a consistent and unified voice globally, with a strong emphasis on upholding human rights, championing democracy, and safeguarding international law.

The Maltese President also participated in a secondary session hosted at Brdo Castle. This discussion focused on strengthening multilateral cooperation and evaluating the roles of the United Nations and other international institutions as they navigate complex global challenges.

President Spiteri Debono and her official delegation are expected to return to Malta later this evening following the conclusion of the meetings.
