Former Minister Evarist Bartolo has taken a dig at PBS for not reporting the presence of two Labour mayors at Saturday’s pro-environment protest, and neither did the national station report their speeches.
Qala mayor Paul Buttigieg and Gzira mayor Conrad Borg Manche were two of the six speakers last Saturday who denounced over-development and called for a stronger effort to protect the environment.
But their speeches were not reported by PBS, Bartolo said on Facebook.
If someone finds the mayors of Gzira and Qala, please inform PBS newsroom immediately, Bartolo sarcastically remarked.
“The last time they were seen was at the national protest Xebbajtuna last Saturday. They gave speeches, like others did, on over development which is destroying the country. The PBS people did not see them or hear them, and so they did not report what they said, or that they were at the protest.”
They (PBS) have been looking for them since Saturday to interview them. But they have not found them yet. Any help to PBS to locate them would be appreciated, Bartolo closed off.
