Malta won nine gold medals on the second day of the Small Nations Games on Tuesday.

Katryna Esposito was the first Maltese athlete to make it to the top of the podium on Tuesday, winning the Judo -48kg category.

She was quickly followed by Jared Micallef and Gina Mcnamara in the 800 metres sprint athletics events.

Peppijna Dalli later won the women's pole vault and Claire Azzopardi also won gold in long jump.

Colette Sultana in squash added a sixth.

Jordan Gusman won the 10,000m athletics race, followed by Lisa Marie Bezzina in the women’s category.

Malta completed the feat in the 4x100m free swimming. The Malta team was composed of Matthew Galea Rahul Starface, Rudi Spiteri and Kyle Micallef.
