10 new mediators were presented with their warrants by Justice Minister Jonathan Attard, after they completed their academic course and showed their competence in exercising their role as mediators, a government statement read.

The minister congratulated the new mediators, "who chose to be of service to those who go before them to reach agreement in a reasonable timeframe and with minimum expenses."

"Through the issuing of these warrants, we are implementing another electoral pledge to increase the number of mediators," the minister said, "and we are committed to continue working and considering more initiatives to strengthen the mediation sector."
